Wines from the Cotes du Rhone valley, come in many styles. Some are a bit insipid and unmemorable, but this example will turn those ideas on its head. Only recently imported into the UK for the first time, this family run business grows only 2 red grapes - Syrah and Grenache - the classic red wine grapes of the region. It is a 50/50 split of the 2 grapes with very low yeilds (giving concentration) natural yeasts, some oak ageing and minimal intervention in the wine making procedure. A beautiful mouthfilling smooth tasting complex red to match good robust foods and barbeques, and difficult to resist a 2nd glass.
