Kombu is a deep-water kelp, hand harvested seasonally from the elementally pure waters of Scotland. It contains umami- the fifth taste – meaning “delicious”, use to deepen the flavour of your dishes or as a healthy salt alternative.
Spoon into soups, stews or add to beans, tomatoes and mushrooms. Mix into bread dough instead of salt. Makes a perfect bouillon to poach vegetables, fish and shellfish.
