It’s vital to give your child nutritious snacks and drinks. Not only does junk food teach them bad habits and possibly do them harm in the long term, but it also doesn’t do them much – if any - good. When your child is hungry between meals, it is an excellent opportunity to nourish them with something that will not only fill their tummies, but will also give them nutrients their little bodies need to keep them growing so perfectly and beautifully. Instead of crisps or a chocolate bar or even a very sugary commercial cereal bar like Kellogg’s, think instead of Japanese rice cakes, wholemeal spelt pretzels, rye crispbreads, carrot sticks, an apple or a handful of dried apricots.
