Buying with confidence

Look for the certifying logo from one of ten certifying bodies in the UK, such as the Soil Association or the certifier's registration number, such as UK5.

For a product to be labelled organic, 95 per cent of the ingredients must be organic. The manufacturer can use 5 per cent of minor ingredients when they are not available organically. Non-agricultural ingredients like water, yeast and salt are not included in these calculations.
