Product description
Clearly, Turmeric is quintessentially Indian and is present in nearly all Indian cuisine. The Turmeric plant is part of the ginger family and it is the zhizome (rootstock) of this plant that is used as the spice. The organically grown rhizomes are bioled and dried, then powdered to make ground tumeric. Yellow-orange in colour, it adds a beautiful colour to foods and its pungent, aromatic flavour adds an earthy depth that combines well with pepper and spice as well as fruity curries and chutneys. If you enjoy cooking Indian food then this is a must-have spice.

The organic turmeric is a herb that I will always use in a lot of my cooking. It is very fresh and brings a distinctive taste to some of the weekly meals I cook, on a regular basis. A little turmeric tends to go A long way, so the 35g bottle does tend to last a while. Of course, the fact that it is organic is the essential reason why I buy turmeric, as the health benefits to using it in food have now been acknowledged as extremely beneficial, plus it's great in curries.
